Repairs to the cracked roof supports in the Great Western tool van

The design of this van goes back to the flatter roof profile used in 19th Century Carriage construction.

Over 100 years in existence, the roof timbers have dried out leading to structural cracks.

The lower broken pieces were drilled out oversize, glued, and pulled together with long screws, giving back some strength to the roof.
