10th September a lovely Autumn start with showers later on.

The AA box interior needed a refresh  with Primrose Yellow as it was starting to look tired.

               

In process the colour change does not show up on the camera inside the box.

              

                                                   The completed job does look a lot better.

                                                      

The Scammel Scarab has been untouched for a while apart from a wash so with the ultrasonic cleaner still clean after the refill it was time to clean the carburettor float bowl and jets.

Filled with fresh petrol and refitted then petrol added to the empty fuel tank it started easily but then took a few squirts of easy start to get the system to prime and fill the carburettor.

                                              

                      The main bench in the workshop had a clean to give us some work space.

                                                

The paint on the museum coach is peeling and investigation showed two different reasons, one being the black paint must have reacted with the previous white paint causing the white to lift and go brittle the other areas show the black has not adhered to the galvanised roof.

Scrapers were used on the roof to remove the peeling paint so we have a firm base to start the repainting process to get a smooth black roof again.

all time consuming jobs but we had time to assemble a pillar drill in the line side workshop wagon and check for a way forwards in carriage number two where the roof was painted a few months ago.

Autumn means a regular clean up of fallen leaves from inside the buildings so now safely on the bonfire
