Wednesday 1st March another cold damp day but the first day of spring.
I stopped off to see what Mike and Wayne had done in the coach museum, it is looking very good now with separate display sections
The goods section

The scammel was suffering fuel starvation so the float bowel was put in an ultra sonic cleaner and came out a lot better although the cleaner died in the process. after cleaning Greg managed to get the jets and drain plug out.

The railway dug up the old water tower supply valve and meter from the garden at number 1 station cottages that was last used before the axe fell on the line in 1963. They deemed it as scrap and put it in the skip but Greg got onto it and we were allowed to salvage it.
This is another job for the future

The gauge glass was cleaned up and brass polished up a bit

It was then time to visit the waste metal skip with the help of the tele handler driver and two slings the pipe and main valve were saved and put by the Honeybourne signal box again a future job with the idea visitors can use the valve.

Whist over there I had a go at the scammel trailer tyre valve it still leaks but less so will be ok for towing around to work on it.

It was then Morris time so a front hub was stripped we knew the brake cylinders were seized but it ended up with breaking the brake pipes to get a hex socket onto the unions but 10mm ones had been screwed into 3/16 threads so they were locked near solid and the correct thread bleed nipple snapped.
Time to source 4 new cylinders and brass rivets to do the linings which have lifted of the shoes with rust.

The only identity plates to source parts

Greg has had signs made for the buildings with QR codes for info and donations.

The floor in Boxford is looking good/now it has dried.

Jane, Mike and Wayne are sorting out the old pay office to make it from shop display to a GWR pay office I removed all the hand tools for another display and straightened a sloping shelf for them.
